Working for peace

The Buddhist Global Relief organisation is a charity dedicated to alleviating suffering for the poor and disadvantaged in the developing world. The charity aims to help problems of global hunger and to improve self-sufficiency of food production for less developed countries.

The charity includes Buddhists from different traditions, but they share a vision. They are actively committed to preventing social and economic suffering and want to live in a world of peace and harmony with each other, in a natural environment.

The charity believes everyone must have the following basic needs in order to live happily and peacefully:

  • food
  • water
  • housing
  • healthcare
  • free education
May I be a good doctor for those who suffer from illness, a guide for those who have gone astray, a lamp for those who dwell in darkness, a source of treasure for those in poverty and need.
