Section 1 - Multiple choice

Marks: 25 marks

Duration: you should aim to finish this section in 40 minutes

So you have 1.5 minutes per mark!

The questions are contained in a separate booklet. The answer grid is inside the written paper.

Read the instructions carefully. These tell you:

  • how to complete the grid
  • how to change your answer if you need to

Once you have read the instructions you can begin:

  • read the questions carefully
  • try to eliminate wrong answers to reduce the choice
  • if you are unsure about an answer then put a star by the question and move on - make sure you come back to it
  • answer all questions
  • if you have no idea, take a guess! You have a 25% chance of getting a correct answer

Lots of students circle their answers in the question booklet. This can be a good idea while you are working out your answers. BUT make sure you transfer your answers to the grid.
