We can draw all sorts of things with just a few simple shapes.
Watch the video and have a go at drawing your own dog.
Hi! I love animals, so today, I thought we could try drawing a friendly little dog.
First, try holding your pencil in a tripod grip or something that feels comfortable.
We’re going to draw the dog's face, so start by drawing a head, making it a little wider at the bottom.
Next, use oval shapes to add the ears, One at a time. Dogs have good hearing so make them nice and big and join them to the top of the head like this.
Add a swooping 'W' down at the bottom to make a mouth.
Next, draw a little nose above the mouth. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect.
Just try your best and have fun. Now, what’s missing?
Oh yes, eyes! Add two circles above the nose. And let’s add a little dot to make pupils.
It’s looking good. Woof!
And finally, add some little dots above the mouth for whiskers. Good dog. Ooops!
How did your picture turn out? It’s okay if it's different from mine. There are as many different drawings as there are dogs.
I hope you had good fun drawing your dog. I know I did, drawing mine.
