Could you work at the BBC
ELECTRICIAN:
I am a spark, stroke electrician. Our purpose is to look after lighting. We will create lighting effects and different little things to light up the actors and make their faces and tones look really good on camera.
ART DIRECTOR:
I’m an art director. Making sure the shoot looks good from an artistic point of view. I wanted to do something art based. And I was like, oh my gosh, I could do it in TV.
TV/RADIO PRESENTER:
I present a show called ‘Life Hacks’ on BBC radio one. I have to talk about various different things that are affecting young people. So if you make your hobby your job you’re still going to love it.
CAMERA ENGINEER:
My job is filming the animals, so any of the live cameras you see. Mainly my job is keeping that working.
SOUND DIRECTOR 1:
I do sound on TV as well for the news channel and world TV.
SOUND DIRECTOR 2:
If someone sent in an audio that was heavily distorted or it’s really noisy in the background, they would rely on you to solve those problems.
ASSISTANT MEDIA SCHEDULER:
You will be checking various different assets every day and checking content. And you’ve got to make sure everything is spelt correctly, everything is branded correctly and it looks right.
SCRIPT EDITOR:
We work on a really tight schedule and obviously the story document is the start of the process and we need to make sure we’re ready in time for when that goes out to production so the whole show can keep going.
