Help playing audio/video ![]() The Birmingham group offer some unique compositions but nothing about this band is conventional. ![]() Catch them at the Academy JTA - whose set houses seven people - have outlandish pseudonyms such as Splakpph and Scrote, and their instruments include six string guitars and saxophones. Describing themselves, Jazz Thrash Assassin reckon that they sound: "..... somewhat like a bull in a record shop… the concept is to be eclectic and innovative with abrupt changes in style, but accessible with humorous lyrics and catchy melodies." They've have been touring around the Midlands building a loyal following over the last 18 months and finished fourth in the 2007 Surface Unsigned Festival. ![]() Playing live But have their unusual compositions alienated the older demographic? Speaking live on BBC WM Introducing, singer Walt D. Factotum answered: "Well, my nan and grandad are listening tonight and they're 78." But do they like the music? "I'm not sure.
