Begin at the footpath where the last walk finished, on the A330 after Ascot racecourse on the left. Go down the footpath and when the path reaches the road, turn left walking past the very ornate gates of Golden Gates Lodge onto Cheapside Road. Pass the entrance to Silwood Park Farm on the right.  | | The entrance of Golden Gates Lodge. |
Just before the turning to Water Splash Lane on the left, turn left down the public footpath past East Lodge. Follow the concrete path through the park, bearing right following the public footpath sign. The path comes out onto a busy road so take care, turn left. Then almost immediately right, through Ascot Gate and into Windsor Great Park, following the road parallel to the main road.  | | Tress in Windsor Great Park. |
Pass through Prince Consort Gate and continue following the path straight ahead. After passing some red brick farmhouses on the right, do not take the path right immediately after the cottages. Instead take the next right where you can see the road climbing into the woods in the distance, due East.  | | Hundreds of deer graze the park. |
Once you reach the top of the hill and the road levels out, turn sharp left down the path opposite Chaplain's Lodge. Pass Ox Pond on your left, and you'll see the statue of King George III on the right at the top of Snow Hill. Head towards the statue. On reaching the statue, take in the fantastic views of Windsor Castle straight ahead and West London.  | | Statue of King George IV. | Follow the famous 'Long Walk' down towards the Castle.When you reach the Castle, turn left and come out into Windsor high street.  | | Windsor Castle. |
Walk past the Guild Hall on your right and continue up towards the Queen Victoria statue. Turn right here and the walk ends in front of the Castle gates.  | | The end of the walk - hurrah! |
