And now for the vagina highlighter

When our parents recount epoch-defining moments from their youth, they can draw on such momentous events as the moon landing, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and of course Abba dropping Dancing Queen.

But when it’s our turn, what will we recall for future generations? The launch of vagina highlighters, obvs.

Yes, hot on the heels of vagina tightening sticks, external and vagina glitter bombs, there’s another addition to your genital pencil case.

Introducing Very V Luminizer from a Danish beauty line.

The Luminizer is marketed as a “Special Highlighting Cream with skincare benefits.”

It boasts Vitamin E to “prevent dark spots”, elderflower to “smooth and luminize the skin” and “luminious iridescent color to add some extra prettiness to the V.”

What in God’s name is “the V”, you ask? Perfect V claims that, “The V is that pretty little triangle sometimes neat, at other times unruly, but always perfect and unique in its own personal way.”

Sorry, what?

The manufacturers go on, it's “the bikini line and visible delicate skin of the triangle area”.

Their products are designed to “make you feel good all over - whether you want to bare it all, or lose your underwear anywhere, anytime, Fifth Avenue or Strøget.”

None of this answers the question of why you’d want to highlight parts of your vagina.

And what about the medical implications?

Dr Vanessa Mackay, spokesperson for Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, told us, “It's a good idea to avoid using cosmetics, perfumed soaps, gels and antiseptics on the vulva as these can affect the healthy balance of bacteria and pH levels and cause irritation.

"Use plain, unperfumed soaps to wash the area around the vagina (the vulva), not inside it, gently, every day.”

It looks like Twitter is echoing this sentiment.
