She's not ruled it out but said she’s never been more excited than she is for her debut at Wrestlemania

Don't expect former UFC women's bantamweight champion-turned-WWE superstar Ronda Rousey to return to the octagon any time soon.

The former UFC women's bantamweight champion is having the time of her life in the WWE, having already made a splash by putting Triple H through a table.

Rousey appeared on US TV show 'Ellen' , external where she told host Ellen DeGeneres about her new job, which now requires her to work on moves with her opponent in the ring to ensure everyone stays safe.

But she joked that if any of her opponents go off script and look to score points by landing a legitimate sucker punch, she'd be more than happy to reply in kind.

"We rehearse things enough where I feel like I wouldn't go out of character or something," she said.

"But if someone hauls off and socks me when they're not supposed to, then no-one will know if I hit them back, right?"

At least, we think she was joking.

But she wasn't joking when Ellen asked her whether she'd ever return to the UFC in the future.

"I dunno. I think it's just as likely as me going back to another Olympics for judo," she stated.

"No one demanded a written resignation from me for judo, and I don't really think the same thing is necessary for fighting.

"I'm just doing what I enjoy, and WWE is what I enjoy right now."

Those last two words, "right now," will of course leave diehard Rousey fans wondering if there's still a slim chance we'll see her back in the octagon one day.

But just watching how happy Rousey clearly is in the WWE, it seems like she's found her dream job.

And she said she can't wait to make her in-ring debut as a WWE wrestler when she teams up with another former US Olympic medallist, Kurt Angle, in a mixed tag match against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at Wrestlemania 34 on 8 April in New Orleans.

"I'm extremely excited," she grinned.

"I mean, I'm nervous, but it's not like Olympics nervous. The worst thing that'll happen is I'll look stupid, which is not the worst thing that could really happen.

"I can't think of the last time I was so excited for anything."
