According to the Oxford English Dictionary a Haiku is:
A Japanese 3 line poem of usually 17 syllables.
More strictly;
The first line must have 5 syllables, the second line 7 syllables and the final line, 5 syllables.

Without his Goon Show,
Would we ever have heard of
John Cleese or Vic Reeves?
