SPAIKUS
According to the Oxford English Dictionary a Haiku is:
A Japanese 3 line poem of usually 17 syllables.

More strictly; The first line must have 5 syllables, the second line 7 syllables and the final line, 5 syllables.

The BBC 7 poet in residence has offered the following example for you to improve on:

Without his Goon Show,
Would we ever have heard of
John Cleese or Vic Reeves?

Check out some spaikus which were sent in for a competition, now closed

And there are further Haiku's in The Write Stuff
