As the final chords fade and the last fans pack up their tents, Reading 2024 has once again proven why it's a cornerstone of the UK festival scene. This year's edition delivered an explosive mix of legendary acts, rising stars, and unforgettable performances.

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher is one of the most distinctive voices in British music. From his early years performing in the legendary band Oasis, to his current solo music, Liam is a tour-de-force who proves time again that rock music is never dead. His second Reading and Leeds headline slot as a solo artist was a special celebration of 30 years of the seminal Oasis album Definitely Maybe.

Fred again..

Fred again.. knows how to hype up an audience and his time on the Main Stage was no different. Livening up the audience with anthems, piano beats and party vibes. The UK’s hottest producer cemented his superstar status with this - his first ever Reading headline slot.

blink-182

blink-182 formed in 1992 in Poway, California. Their sound has changed over the years from catchy pop melodies to pop punk anthems that have defined generations. Performing their classics including What’s My Age Again and I Miss You, their set was a welcome return.

RAYE

RAYE is without doubt one of the most important artists of this generation. Straight off the back of supporting Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour, RAYE is proving yet again why she is the artist to watch! Visibly moved and excited to return to Reading as a Main Stage act, she talked about coming to Reading as a 16 year old, having just finished her GCSEs, a real standout moment of the weekend.

Fontaines D.C.

The Irish post-punk rockers brought energy, fiery personas, and a host of new songs following the release of their new album Romance. The five piece band’s sound has changed dramatically as they gain recognition for their raw talent, and with their second appearance at Reading & Leeds, they have firmly made their mark on the festival.

Lana Del Rey

Bringing a spectacular set design, talented dancers, and an ethereal performance, Lana Del Rey delivered a demure and elegant presence on the Main Stage. Performing her iconic songs Video Games and Chemtrails Over the Country Club, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight.

The Prodigy 

Emerging from the underground rave scene in 1991, The Prodigy well and truly deserve the title of legends, evolving their sound to become the pioneers of breakbeat. The group wowed the festival with their high-tech lasers and showcased the Chevron Stage’s unique lighting net.

Two Door Cinema Club

Two Door Cinema Club was formed in 2007 in Bangor, Northern Ireland. Their first EP entitled Four Words to Stand On was released in March 2008 garnering attention from a number of websites. The band ended their Reading Festival set performing iconic song What You Know.

The Last Dinner Party

The British indie rock band The Last Dinner Party are known for their eclectic sound and theatrical performances. After the release of their first single Nothing Matters, they were crowned as the Radio 1’s Sound of 2024 in January. With swagger and intensity the group captured the crowd with their energetic performance.

Barry Can't Swim

The Scottish electronic music producer’s work has been described as ‘deeply considered and lovingly crafted’. His set on the Chevron Stage delivered just that, performing hit songs Blackpool Boulevard and Deadbeat Gospel and fusing genres from deep house to jazzy afrobeats.

Kenya Grace

The South-African born British singer-songwriter and producer grabbed the world’s attention when her song Strangers went viral on social media in 2023. Kenya Grace delivers soulful lyrics with a mixture of delicate DnB beats. With a UK number one single and Ivor Novello nomination, Kenya Grace knows how to light up a festival stage.

4am Kru

If one act more than any other brought the fun to the Chevron Stage it was 4am Kru. The London DJ duo have been making waves on the UK Jungle scene. Their raucous performance brought a mix of genres, firmly gaining new fans on the way.

Bou x B Live 247

Bou x B Live 247 (also know as MC Evil B) brings together two heavy weights of DnB music. Their Friday night set on the Chevron Stage saw them bring out the one and only Example, for crowd-pleasing DnB remixes of two of his biggest tunes - Kickstarts and Changed The Way You Kissed Me

Denzel Curry

Hailing from Florida, USA. Denzel Curry is quickly making himself a name in the rap game. He began rapping in the sixth grade and released his first mixtape, King Remembered Underground Tape 1991-1995 in 2011. He has been the support act for the likes of Billie Eilish and Kid Cudi. His high energy performance and youth appeal makes him perfect for a Reading line up.
