The final Silver Street episode was broadcast on Fri 26 Mar 2010 and the final omnibus on Sun 28 Mar 2010
Zenab Jilani Played by Sudha Bhuchar
DOB: 1st June 1955 FAMILY : Late husband Mushtaq. Children - Rozena & Imran LIVES: Zenab was living in Lahore, Pakistan. She returned to England when she heard Mushtaq was ill and also for Rozena's wedding. WORK: Zenab is a rich woman with time on her hands. She doesn't work as such but is known locally for her charitable work and she 'helps out' at Silverhill Rangers and the other Jilani businesses. CHARACTER: She's a feisty, stylish woman, who can be warm towards those with an independent mind, and withering to those who just 'follow the herd' unthinkingly. She has a dominant nature and she proved it by taking over Rozena's wedding plans. She can also be a bit of a snob and will do whatever it takes to outdo others. STAR SIGN : I don't believe in all this nonsense
Zenab
"I can't believe Mushtaq has gone. It's still so hard to believe that he will never walk through that door again. I look at his chair at Silverhill Rangers and it's just so empty. He used to sit there signing his contracts waving that fancy pen in the air going on about how his club was going to be huge. All those years wasted while I was in Pakistan! Sometimes the loneliness makes me want to go back there but then who would guide Imran and Rozena? All that fighting and for what - something Mushtaq would want them both to have anyway!
No, it's good that I am here. My children need me now more than they realise. They've been through so much. Imran is trying to get his life back on track now he has discovered little Luca's existance. Who would have thought it - my Imran - father to a ten year old boy and trying to be so responsible! I just wish Rozena would accept things the way they are - she hurts her brother so much with her rejections and accusations. I think she's mellowing now that she has Jibran, I just wish Mushtaq was alive to see his grandson."
