Mushtaq enjoyed lording it over other people, but would have hated to owe anybody anything himself. STAR SIGN : Gemini Mushtaq
"These are exciting times, and once again I, Mushtaq Jilani, am right in the cut and thrust of it all! The regeneration project made it to this side of the canal and I'm on the board. Shops and restaurants are all very well, and they've certainly made me some money over the years, but property development is where the serious money is nowadays. Besides, I needed a new challenge... so buying Silverhill Rangers certainly gave me that even if it has played havoc with my heart. Too many heart attacks in such a short space of time but that is the price you pay for such a great legacy.
Of course I always expected opposition in my business dealings. Some people round here just don't know what's good for them. I've brought jobs and prosperity to this area, so what are they whinging about? They're just small-minded busybodies who need to learn to move with the times. I like to make things happen and I'm not going to start apologising for it.
Rozena has always been a real help with the business, she's a chip off the old block my daughter, she had to take a bit of a step back when she got married of course, and now she and Sameer have lost the baby I don't want to put any pressure on her. I don't know what to think about Zenab, first she disappears to Pakistan leaving me in the lurch with the children. I just got used to life as a single man and then just as suddenly she's back! She said she came back for Rozena's wedding but that was over three years ago and I don't see any sign of her leaving. And Imran, he always just seemed to want to spite me, first, messing about at that Centre with a load of drop-out kids, and then all that business with young Jasmine. I didn't understand where I went wrong. I wish he could have confided in me all those years ago, or if Rozena had, maybe I could have helped them. I feel so guilty that I wasn't there for them. I thought I was doing my best for them, building a future. But I think Imran's travels have done him good, now he's home again, what a change, maybe he has some of my genes after all!"
And now we find out Imran has a son of his own - Luca. What a delightful little boy and very much like his father. Rozena and Sameer are having a baby too so things are really looking up for the Jilanis. I can't wait to meet my second grandson - I Just hope my heart can keep going until then...... " |
