“Life’s good…as usual I’ve been running around ragged with work, Derek and the family. Not too long ago, I used to work the Comedy Club circuit and the punters loved my open mic sessions. I even hosted the Comedy Showcase at the Parkside in Silver Street. It was great and I even got a chance to get my pal Manisha in on the act. I now work demanding shifts at the hospital with short notice so it means that I don’t get the chance to do it often. Although, being a Nurse isn’t always plain sailing and your feet are always sore….I love the job and the other girls are great.
Things with Derek are going steady at the moment, but he needs to remember who’s in charge!. I’m in no rush to settle down and he knows to give me my own space. However, he’d better not mistake that as an excuse to go cavorting around with other women. I’ve had to deal with men before who can’t do the ‘one woman’ thing and I’m too long in the tooth to do that again.
The brood at home are always doing their own thing, what with Gramps thinking he’s one fine Casanova and Mum trying to keep him in line. I thought it would have been much quieter since Sway moved to Silver Street, but far from it!. Even all the way down here we can’t help but think that he’s up to something. As his big Sis it’s my responsibility to make sure that he keeps his neck out of trouble. It looks like his relationship with Nadia is full of grief, especially with this whole religion business. Sway had better wise up and stay true to himself…if not I’ve got to give that boy a few smacks around the head to sort him out”.
