“My Pops back in Jamaica always used to say that treat every day like you would a woman, keep it happy and keep it sweet!, never had a truer word been spoken!. Believe me; I’ve had to do that living with both my daughter Shirley and granddaughter Sarah. Those two are always on my case to get some work done around the house. But what can I say a man’s got other priorities!. Washing up dishes and vacuuming isn’t exactly my style. I’d rather kick my feet up in the front garden with some stout and watch the lovely ladies walk on by. Oh yeah…and there’s that blasted cat, Winston, who goes missing for days on end. Nothing to worry about though, I’m sure he’s out on the prowl, you get me!.
All that aside…I’ve had to be there for my Shirley and the children. Shirley’s husband died many years ago when Sarah, Sway and Clive were small. I didn’t waste any time and moved in with the family and I had to make sure that they didn’t go without anything. It was important for the children to have a strong father figure growing up. Now, just because they’ve grown up it doesn’t mean that I don’t stop watching over them. Sway got me worried, that boy was raised a Christian then he wants to go convert to Islam, just to please that girl Nadia and those Akhtars. No woman is worth cutting off your roots. Seems he saw sense in the end though and it looks like he's given up all that foolishness." | |
