ShinShin from DCS has been in the music industry 22 years, and has achieved more awards than hot dinners.

Best known for: Being 'The 'S' in DCS'
Current album: Punjabi Dance Nation
Up and coming: Tenu Kol Keh

In 1981, musicians 'Mr. D' and 'Mr. C' were recommended to Shin whilst he prepared to enter a Mohammad Rafi competition. The three entered and performed live in front of an audience for the first time ever and DCS were formed as a band. First to incorporate synthesisers into their music DCS paved the way for all bhangra bands to accommodate modern influences into their music.

In the 90s, DCS maintained the Punjabi tradition with emphasis on the dhol and tumbi, achieving gold and platinum discs in the bhangra industry. 'Tenu Kol Keh', released in 1988 on the album 1 2 3 Go is still today referred to as 'a classic'. 15 years on (2003), DCS re-vamped the track for the release of DCS Flava.

Shin is still a major role model for up-coming bands and artists. He has collaborated with many well known Indian artists including Hunterz, Sukhshinder Shinda, The Dhol Foundation and Natacha Atlas. Shin lists his musical inspirations as Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Jamla Jatt and Surinder Kaur. Throughout Shin's career, he has picked up a trophy cabinet full of awards including Best Male Vocalist (2001 Pop Awards), Best Live Band (1998 Pop Awards) and Best Male Artist, Best Band, Best Single (1996 Pop Awards).
