Shahin BadarShahin has emerged as one of the most accomplished and outstanding female Asian vocalists in the UK mainstream and British Asian music scene.

Born in Colchester, England to parents of the Indian subcontinent, Shahin Badar spent her formative years growing up in Kuwait. Where inspired by her mother and encouraged by her teachers, she developed her powerful blend of Arabic and Indian vocals.

With a sound that has now become Shahin's trademark, she has seen her versatile talents cross many genres of music including Asian to Electronica dance, from big beat, trance to Worldbeat.

Shahin has worked on various innovative musical collaborations, with respected musicians and producers such as Prodigy, A.R Rahman, Jah Wobble, Twista, Juliet Lewis, Tim Deluxe and Mukhtar Sahota. Her vocals are also credited in the soundtracks to several successful major Hollywood and Bollywood feature films and TV programmes, including Golden Globe Award winning Closer, Charlie's Angels, Nikita, Second Generation, Yuva and Zubeidaa along with adverts and trailers such as Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Scottish Widows and Asian Images.

She has won the Best Female Vocalist at the Asian Pop Awards,in addition to being twice short-listed for the Asian Women of Achievement Awards, a short-list finalist for the Alhamra Award for Excellence, a nomination finalist at the Ethnic Multi Cultural Media Awards and received a Double Platinum disc for Fat Of The Land.
