On Friday 1st May, Kev Duala talked us through the latest scam warnings from Housing Associations, including tenants being cold called by companies about disrepair claims and receiving suspicious messages claiming to be from the government and asking for personal details.

Kev explained how these scams work, what you can do to spot them, and how to deal with your housing association property being in disrepair - including where to find advice to bring a claim yourself.

If you are in England, Scotland or Wales and you receive any suspicious texts, messages or emails that you think may be a scam, you can get in contact with Report Fraud here, external or call 0300 123 2040.

Most phone providers are part of a scheme that allows customers to report suspicious text messages for free by forwarding it to 7726.

In Scotland, report to Police Scotland by calling 101.

If you need advice for bringing a disrepair claim against your landlord then you can visit Citizens advice on the link here, external.
