Jacob Alon is the BBC Introducing Artist of the Year 2025

Following in the footsteps of previous winners Myles Smith, Olivia Dean, Arlo Parks and more; Jacob Alon has been announced the BBC Introducing Artist of the year for 2025.
They have been championed by Phoebe I-H and Stephanie Cheape from BBC Introducing in Scotland since they first started uploading music in 2023.

Who is Jacob Alon?
Born and raised in Fife, Scotland.
Started playing piano at the age of 9 before picking up a guitar at the age of 15.
Originally enrolled to study Medicine and Theoretical Physics at Edinburgh University, they left to pursue music full time.
They quickly became known for their distinct songs that effortlessly create a profound sense of intimacy by combining incredible vocals with intricate guitar playing.
They have been compared to Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright amoingst others.
They released their debut album In Limerence in May which was later nomiated for the Mercury Prize and shortlisted for the Scottish Album of the Year.

Jacon Alon performs on the Introducing Stage at Glastonbury
Since first uploading in 2023, Jacob has received extensive support from Introducing and the wider BBC after being played on BBC Introducing in Scotland.
Soon after that first play they took to the stage at Glasgow's Iconic Barrowlands as part of Tenement Trail to perform on behalf of BBC Music Introducing in Scotland.
Then in 2024 they played live at BBC Introducing's national showcase at the Lower Third in London before being invited to record a session for the Scotland team. In November of that year they performed a show-stopping version of Fairy in A Bottle on Later... with Jools Holland.
Jacob has followed up that breakthrough year with even more success in 2025 including performing on the Introducing Stage at Glastonbury, a performance at the Mercury Music Awards from their Mercury shortlisted debut album and being named one of 6 Music Artists of the Year.
