The Mousetrap Tenth Anniversary Celebrations
This is a soundtrack of speeches made at a party that was held at the Savoy to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Mousetrap. Richard Attenborough and Sybil Thorndike (who admits to never having seen the play) speak warmly and are answered by a shy Agatha Christie, who accepts a copy of the play's script encased in a gold cover.
This party was filmed for inclusion in an edition of This Is Your Life, as Eamonn Andrews used the occasion to surprise Richard Attenborough and whisk him away to a recording of the programme. Unfortunately, no broadcast quality version of the pictures accompanying this soundtrack remains. Agatha Christie and Peter Saunders are pictured slicing a celebration cake at the party.
