The Lively Arts - Len Deighton

Len Deighton was born into a London workhouse and grew up in a mews that backed onto the property where his parents were in service. Now an internationally successful author, he spends part of his time in Portugal, which is where Melvyn Bragg caught up with him to discuss his spy novels, which include 'The Ipcress File' and 'Funeral in Berlin'.
