The Levin Interviews - Henry Moore

Renowned journalist and broadcaster Bernard Levin talks to Henry Moore in the sculptor's studio about his art and influences. They discuss his childhood, art from ancient civilisations, and nature and the female form and look at how these have helped to shape his work. They also touch upon such subjects as his belief that true artists should be able to draw so they can develop technical mastery of light and perspective.

Over the years, Henry Moore employed many young artists as assistants, including Anthony Caro. Moore introduced Caro to modernism and taught him about life drawing. One of Caro's own students, Phillip King, also spent time as an assistant to Moore and said he benefited by learning to work on a larger scale.
