Talk-in To Day

This discussion programme opens with film footage of Aneurin Bevan and a short interview with his widow, Baroness Lee.

Robin Day is joined by Sir Keith Joseph, Secretary of State for Social Services, who faces some hostile questions from members of the medical profession. One became a doctor in the year that the NHS was introduced, while another was born in that year and is now a medical practitioner.

Contributor Dr Shirley Summerskill is the daughter of Baroness Summerskill, who served in Clement Attlee's post-war government.
