Open Door - In Praise of Femininity and the Feminine Woman
The 'women's libbers' get a handbagging from the Campaign for the Feminine Woman as members make a plea for a return to the traditional female roles associated with the home and family.
Open Door was one of the BBC's first attempts at offering the British public a platform for national broadcast. Evolving into the series Open Space, it was a product of the Community Programme Unit, which was in operation from 1972 until 2004.
The unit was also responsible for the pioneering mass observation strand Video Nation, which exploited the arrival of the domestic camcorder to create the video diary format.
