Kaleidoscope - Ingrid Bergman
Ingrid Bergman shares her memories of Hollywood, talking about her own obstinacy (she refused to change her look or name) and recalling how the writers and cast on 'Casablanca' (1942) 'made it up as we went along'. In a very full life, she witnessed Nazi rallies in Berlin, experienced social ostracism because of her affair with Roberto Rossellini, encountered both Ernest Hemingway and George Bernard Shaw, and acted in some of the most enduring films of the 20th Century.
Ingrid Bergman was fluent in five languages; as well as her native Swedish, she spoke English, Italian, French and German.
