Great Liners - Hazard at Sea

As part of a series on some of the great liners in history, this episode looks at the Titanic on her maiden voyage to America. Survivors recount that fatal night, including one crew member who held on as the stern lifted up before plunging into the ocean. The above picture shows the Titanic leaving Belfast. The Titanic weighed 46,328 tons and was the largest ship in the world at the time. When fully laden, it weighed 66,000 tons.
