Football Legends - Len Shackleton

Consummate ball control and a showman's instinct made Len Shackleton the crowd's favourite at both Newcastle and Sunderland during the post-war years. Jimmy Armfield speaks to 'Shack' and those who remember his glittering skills, including the former 'Today' presenter Brian Redhead, who recalls a particularly memorable penalty.

Len Shackleton was the first footballer to publish his autobiography. It included a chapter famously titled 'The Average Director's Knowledge of Football' that consisted of a single, blank page.
