Collector's Choice - Pete Wylie
Singer-songwriter Pete Wylie is best known as the leading force behind Liverpool band Wah! and here he talks about his career and the early 1980s music scene with typical candour and self-deprecation. His anecdotes are interspersed with selections from his eclectic record collection, spanning 1950s rock 'n' roll, 1970s punk, songs by his own contemporaries from Merseyside and tracks from his latest album, A Word to the Wise Guy.
Pete Wylie and Wah! have been through many incarnations since their UK breakthrough hit The Story of the Blues (part 1) in 1982. They've issued records as Wah!, Wah! Heat, the perplexing Shambeko! Say Wah!, Wah! the Mongrel and The Mighty Wah! among other names.
