Canvas - 7: Sunflowers: Van Gogh

Among Van Gogh's most well-known works are those featuring flowers. Taking as his starting point the most famous of all, Sunflowers, Paul Harris uses the artist's own words as he examines his work in comparison to similar paintings by his friend and mentor, Paul Gauguin.

This programme was originally broadcast as part of the First Eleven series on 12 November 1970. It was reshown on 12 August 1971 within a run of repeats of the arts series Canvas.
