Don't panic! Gaelic follows the English!

My name is Renate and I'm from the Netherlands.
I'm studying Gaelic for several reasons; to relax, to train my brain, to keep a language alive, things like that. I do not know anyone else who's learning Gaelic. I think that's a shame because I can't speak it with others. But I can sing! (ok, if no-one's listening). My favorite way to learn the language is to learn the songs here on this website. And watch BBC alba and listen to BBC radio. Oh, and read books of course.

Have fun learning!

Renate

‘S e Renate an t-ainm a th' orm agus ‘s anns An Tìr Ìosal a tha mi. Tha mi ag ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig airson iomadh rud; son fois a ghabhail, son eanchainn a thrèanadh agus airson a' chànan a chumail beò, rudan mar sin. Chan eil mi eòlach air duine sam bith a tha ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig, tha e truagh oir chan urrainn dhòmhsa a bruidhinn ri duine sam bith eile. Ach tha comas seinn agamsa (uill, mur a h-eil duine sam bith eile mun chuairt). ‘S e an goireas as fheàrr leam son ionnsachadh na Gàidhlig na h-òrain air an làraich seo, agus a' coimhead air BBC ALBA agus ag èisteachd ri Radio nan Gàidheal. O agus a' leughadh leabhraichean.

Gabh spòrs.
