- As Interim Chief Operating Officer, Glyn provides financial leadership across the BBC Group, shaping the BBC’s long term financial plan and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
- He advises the BBC Board on financial matters, including financial risk management and ensuring the BBC operates within its budgets
- Glyn leads the Finance, Procurement, Legal, Commercial, Rights and Business Affairs and Quality, Risk and Assurance teams, as well as overseeing the efficiency of the BBC to ensure the value for money of the licence fee

Glyn Isherwood joined the BBC in 2018 as Group Finance and Operations Director before becoming Chief Financial Officer and a BBC Pensions Trustee, Glyn has also acted as Interim Group Chief Operating Officer.
Glyn is an experienced Finance Director, who has held many senior positions in the media industry, most recently as Group Finance Director at Channel 4. He has provided long-term financial strategy and ensured business performance of many creative and digital organisations. Prior to joining the BBC Glyn held senior finance roles at Channel 4, ITV plc, Granada Content and United Productions.
Glyn professionally trained as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG where he specialised in audit and media and also spent time on secondment in the KPMG Los Angeles office. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester as well as holding an MBA from Kingston Business School.
He has previously held honorary positions as a trustee of UNICEF, Treasurer for Amnesty International UK and Trustee for BBC Children in Need.
