5 live's City of 2012

This year the UK gets a new city as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Twenty-five towns have applied, and the Queen will grant city status to one of them early this year.

On 5 live, we think size doesn't matter, and we want to celebrate all that's brilliant about where you live, with a competition to find the 5 live City of 2012.

Whether it's a town, village or tiny hamlet, if it's special enough we'll make it a city just for an evening, and send Tony Livesey to present a programme there in its honour.

Nominations are open from 9th January 2012 and will close at 23.59 on 15th January 2012. Nominations won't be accepted after this deadline.

On Monday 16th January a star-studded panel will draw up a shortlist from your nominations of would-be cities on Tony Livesey's show. We'll then hold a text vote from Tuesday morning to find a winner. If where you live triumphs Tony will be paying you a visit on Tuesday 24 January.
