Reward offered for Spot the dog
Border Collie generic
Border collies are a popular family pet
A Pembrokeshire family has offered a 1,000 reward as efforts to find their beloved pet dog are stepped up before Christmas.

Spot, a four-year-old border collie, went missing from his Milford Haven home in mysterious circumstances nine weeks ago.

We really don't know what happened to him that day

Maryanne Layton

His worried owners the Layton family, have already spent 1,000 on notices and advertisements in attempts to track him down.

Father-of-three Mark Layton said finding Spot would be well worth the additional 1,000 reward for the sake of his daughters.

"It is a lot of money but the dog means a lot to us," he said.

"It is the only thing in the house I cannot replace - he is so individual."

Spot's disappearance remains something of a mystery, after he went missing while all of the family was out.

Abusive calls

"I don't think he ran off," said Maryanne Layton, "It was very odd.

"I went out for an hour and a half and when I came home the French doors were open, there was a vase of flowers on the floor and Spot was gone.

"We really don't know what happened to him that day," she added.

Mr Layton said he was keeping an open mind as to whether Spot had been stolen.

He also revealed the family had received some sinister phone calls.

"We have had some abusive calls but that is perhaps to be expected when you advertise."

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Good Morning Wales team on Radio Wales on 08700 100 110.
