BBC News Online's Tom Bourton watches out for Welsh stars making waves on the ocean of celebrity gossip.

Following news of Catherine Zeta Jones' second pregnancy, the US press is awash with rumours that the baby will be a girl.

It is also understood that the sister for two-year-old Dylan Douglas will be called Zeta, ensuring the name, which CZJ inherited from her grandmother, will stay in the Hollywood family.

The name originally came from an iron-ore carrying ship in Swansea which Catherine's great great grandfather worked on in the 1860s.

The name would continue the Mask of Zorro star's determination to stay true to her south Wales roots.

Recent proof includes supporting the Noah's Ark Appeal campaign, hiring a Welsh nanny and having a Dylan Thomas poem etched onto a table for her living room.

She is also due to return to Swansea in December to visit her family.

Another movie star in the spotlight is Jonathan Pryce, from Holywell, north Wales, who is currently working on Johnny Depp film Pirates of the Carribean.

According to Wordplay, production is on time and on budget, and a monkey has allegedly been upstaging Geoffrey Rush.

"Whenever the monkey is on screen, I'm just a large human prop," complained the star of Shine and the Tailor of Panama.

Returning heroes

Elsewhere, the Manic Street Preachers boosted their profile with a set before Wales' historic football win over Italy at the Millennium Stadium this week.

Performing Design for Life and You Stole the Sun From My Heart, the appearance of the Blackwood trio was a worthy prelude to the stunning show on the pitch from Mark Hughes' men.

The Manics have a new single out

The game coincided with last week's release of their new single There By the Grace of God.

Opera star Bryn Terfel, who is behind the annual Faenol festival in Caernarfon, north Wales, was also on hand to guide the crowd through the national anthem.

Another favourite making a return is Pontypridd boy Tom Jones.

Finally, the Lostprophets, also from Pontypridd, are also making a new start, as they thank all their fans for supporting their first album, The Fake Sound of Progress.

But the band are keen to move on as they begin writing their a new album.
