BBC News Online's Tom Bourton strolls into the gossip forum to listen for news about Welsh stars.

It seems a week cannot go by without talk of a major Hollywood movie unloading their cameras somewhere in the country - this time it is the Tomb Raider sequel that has come a-calling.

After being refused permission to film in China, the energetic exploits of the computer games heroine will now be shot in Snowdonia, north Wales.

Angelina Jolie
Tomb Raider will follow in 007's footsteps

Although Angelina Jolie has not yet been seen buying a loaf of bread from a Llanrwst newsagent, it can only be a matter of time.

The film, Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Fire, is the latest of big-budget movies to be smitten by the lure of Welsh backdrops.

It joins an illustrious list including the latest James Bond adventure Die Another Day, which filmed near Aberporth, west Wales earlier this year and Christopher Walken's black comedy Plots With A View - shot in south Wales in late 2001.

Staying in Hollywood, all sorts of rumours are spreading across the web over the supposedly-upcoming Batman vs Superman movie.

Christian Bale
Christian Bale would love to play Batman

Pembrokeshire's Christian Bale has been repeatedly linked with the Batman role and even discussed the speculation - and reports that he is a front-runner to take over as 007 - in a recent interview picked up by Countingdown.com.

Understandably, he said he would be happier with either part!

But the Batman talk could all be elementary, as Chud.com is now reporting the project could have been completely binned by Warner Brothers, in favour of a new Superman script called Man of Steel.

Meanwhile, Catherine Zeta Jones has been brought back down to earth with a bump, after just being linked with the White House because her husband Michael Douglas is considering a political career.

Britney Spears
Britney: Worst-dressed celebrity

This week, she lost out to Victoria Beckham in a poll for Britain's best-dressed celebrity.

The survey, for Prima magazine, placed CZJ second, ahead of Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Nicole Kidman - while pop princess Britney Spears was voted the worst-dressed.

But CZJ will be happier to see that her latest movie Chicago is eagerly anticipated by the Dark Horizons website, which reported that the "test screening reaction has been astonishing".

Manic tracks

Over to music, and Bryn Terfel's Faenol festival notched up a third successful year in north Wales, which performances from Martine McCutcheon, Claire Sweeney and Y Tebot Piws.

Elsewhere, the track list for the Manic Street Preachers Greatest Hits album has been unveiled by nme.com.

In addition to old favourites, two new tracks, called There By The Grace Of God and Door To The River, are on the album.

Hear'Say lost singer Kym Marsh in January

And anyone who picks up an early copy will also get a free second CD of remixes, including Chemical Brothers reworkings of Faster and 'La Tristessa Durera (Scream To A Sigh), and a Massive Attack version of If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next.

Finally, the arguments following the acrimonious departure of Kym Marsh from Hear'Say continue to bubble.

Keeping the flame alive, Caerau's Noel Sullivan has been quoted in Heat magazine explaining why he did not attend the nuptials of Marsh and Eastenders actor Jack Ryder.

"If someone hasn't got the decency to tell you they're quitting, why would you go to their wedding?," he argued.

And who can say fairer than that?
