Towns and villages across Wales are continuing to celebrate the Queen's Golden Jubilee, with hundreds more street parties and special events taking place.

It has been estimated that almost 500 roads and streets will have been closed for festivities across Wales by the end of the long weekend.

And even if you're not having your own street party, you can join in with one hosted by BBC Radio Wales.

Wales's smallest city - St David's in Pembrokeshire - will be the venue for a party with a difference.

Radio Wales presenters including Roy Noble, Frank Hennessy, Chris Needs, Owen Money, Dewi Griffiths, Ray Gravell, Alan Thompson, and Kevin Hughes will be broadcasting live from 1300BST outside the Old Cross Hotel.

As well as providing entertainment and live music spanning each decade of music since the coronation, the Radio Wales street party will also be running quizzes and competitions all afternoon.

Later in St David's Cathedral, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales offers a classical take on the celebrations, while Cardiff Castle will be jumping to the sounds of 50 years of music at a free party featuring Swansea-born chart-topper Steve Balsamo.

The proceedings will be broadcast on BBC One as part of the BBC Music Live UK tour.

'Musical beacon'

Choirs will sing the BBC Music Live 2002 theme tune - a new version of the Beatles classic, All You Need is Love.

Described as a "musical beacon", the plan is for the song to "echo" around Britain - starting in Cardiff at 1300BST, and working its way around similar events.

For those unfamiliar with the words, 3,000 balloons have been printed with lyrics.

Children's TV favourite Blue Peter will also be broadcasting live from castle.

Streets have been decked out in flags

On Monday night, more than 1,800 beacons and bonfires will be lit across the UK to mark the Queen's 50th year on the throne.

Around 600 have been registered through the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Fund, in response to its appeal to the farming community to put the tragedies of the past year behind them.

NFU Cymru president Peredur Hughes will be lighting one on his farm in Ynys Mon, as will his predecessor Hugh Richards, in Llanelw, Carmarthenshire.

There will also be beacons overlooking the Cambrian Mountains at Llangybi, Lampeter, on Llanllwni Mountain, and 1,000ft above sea level in Snowdonia.

In north east Wales the Mayor of Llandudno will light the Jubilee Beacon, situated at the Summit Cafe, Great Orme and dozens of street parties are planned across the region.

Meanwhile, anti-royalists in south Wales are continuing their three-day festival in a counter-attack on the Golden Jubilee celebrations.

A coalition called 'Stuff The Monarchy' is staging a republican "jamboree" at Pontypridd which will last until Tuesday.
