Seagull sparks rescue operation
Seagull
Seagull
A fire engine, a hydraulic platform and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) were all called out to the aid of a trapped seagull on Monday.

The gull was spotted hanging from the roof of the HSBC bank on Suffolk Road in Lowestoft at about 1000 GMT.

It had got its leg caught in wire, and was stuck 50 feet up in the air.

A fire crew from Lowestoft tried to reach the bird, but the engine's ladders were not long enough.

A hydraulic platform was called out from Great Yarmouth, and crews managed to free the bird at 1100 GMT.

The gull was treated by the RSPCA for a cut to its leg.
