Troubled pubs threatened with closure
Glandford Park
A capacity crowd is expected at Glandford Park
Pubs in Scunthorpe could be shut down at the first signs of trouble ahead of Saturday's derby clash between Scunthorpe United and Hull City, police have warned.

Many public houses in the town centre have already agreed to close their doors in the hours before and immediately after the match at Glandford Park.

But police will have the powers to close pubs themselves if there are any signs of trouble flaring between rival fans.

Glandford Park will have usual staff numbers but a stronger police presence will be at the stadium.

Humberside Police say they are expecting a big crowd at the ground, including large numbers of away fans from Hull.

Supporters without tickets for the derby match have been advised to stay away.
