| Sunday, 9 February, 2003, 15:11 GMT 'My house was vibrating' ![]() Julian Bridgeman's garden disappeared into the hole Lavender Road residents evacuated after three gardens disappeared into a huge hole, thought to be caused by tunnelling work on the Channel Tunnel rail link, describe how they heard the news.
"Police were shouting 'evacuate, evacuate' and the fire brigade and ambulance were here. "I thought there was a bomb scare the way people were carrying on. "We had to go and stay at my aunt's house but were let back onto the street this morning. "We've been told we might have to leave again." 17-year-old Rona Ramsey
