Cash boost for disabled community

The funds will help disabled people into work
More than 3m in funding is on its way to Wiltshire's disabled community.

The money - 3.5m in total - is from the European Union (EU) to help up to 2,000 disabled people and carers in the county who want to work.

The plan is to improve existing employment schemes funded by the county council over the next four years, to help disabled people and carers into work.

The money has been made available because the council has won special status from the EU.

Judy Seager, of Wiltshire Council said: "Wiltshire businesses are missing out by not employing skilled and talented people with disabilities and those that care for them.

"We want to ensure that we do all we can to help disabled people and carers into employment by breaking down barriers and giving them new skills," she added.
