A teenager who was shot dead with a friend outside a hairdressing salon following a New Years' party is to be cremated on Valentine's Day.

Letisha Shakespeare's funeral will take place in Northampton, where she was born.

The 17-year-old art student and her friend Charlene Ellis, 18, died in a hail of bullets outside the salon in the Aston area of Birmingham in the early hours of 2 January.

Charlene's twin Sophie and cousin Cheryl Shaw, 17, were injured in the attack.

The four girls were among around 25 revellers who had stepped outside the back of the salon for some fresh air when they were shot.

Letisha's friends and family will gather at the Park Avenue North Methodist Church, Abingdon Avenue, Northampton for the noon service on 14 February.

Last week, West Midlands Police said one of the men they are looking for in connection to the shootings may have fled abroad.
