| Tuesday, 28 January, 2003, 21:47 GMT Crime reduction initiative on show ![]() Police want to reduce drug-related offences The latest phase of West Yorkshire Police's biggest initiative to cut crime is targeting Chapeltown, Wetherby, and surrounding villages. Exhibitions will be held in the areas over the next week focusing on street crime and drugs offences, as well as anti-social behaviour. Officers from the Target Initiative will join local police on high visibility patrols. Chief Superintendent Dick Rothwell said: "We are delighted to welcome the Target Initiative to the Chapeltown and Wetherby areas. Crime prevention "It forms part of a continuous and concerted effort to reduce crime and the fear of crime in the areas most affected. "The aim of the event is to provide a reassuring visible presence and it is an excellent opportunity for the residents to come and meet police officers." Displays, including crime prevention advice, will be held at Wetherby Town Hall from 1030 to 1500 GMT on 1 February, and at Tesco's Roundhay Road store on 2 February.
