A man involved in a multi-million pound pirate video operation has told a court he did not realise copying was illegal.

Keith Cranston, of Brandon in Suffolk, was given a two-year community rehabilitation order at Norwich Crown Court.

He had pleaded guilty more than a year ago to one charge of plotting to defraud the film industry.

The man who masterminded the operation, Allen Watts, was jailed in December for three years and 11 months.

Cranston, 40, said he had not realised copying the blockbuster videos was against the law until police raids in February 2001.
