| Tuesday, 14 January, 2003, 08:16 GMT School inherits part of the Dome ![]() The slightest movement can trigger lots of colours Part of the Millennium Dome has been transported to a school in Bromsgrove. Kaleidoscope has been installed at Chadsgrove School which caters for more than 100 pupils with physical disabilities and learning difficulties. Staff and pupils from the school noticed the equipment on a visit to the dome and decided to write and ask for it. The square screen allows youngsters to create colourful electronic images and sounds.
The 11,000 price tag on the equipment was paid by a well-wisher and will open at the school next month. Angela White, headteacher of lower school, said months of writing to bosses at the dome had finally paid off. "It is just a fabulous piece of equipment," she said. "The children can do so many amazing and exciting things that even the children with the most profound physical disabilities can make the whole screen come alive." She said the slightest movement can trigger multi-coloured patters and sound, a video camera catches the image and then projects it onto the screen. Kaleidoscope is part of a multi-sensory room at the school. | Top England stories now: Links to more England stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
