| Thursday, 9 January, 2003, 12:35 GMT North Bay �120m plan unveiled ![]() Developers say the plans would revitalise the town Proposals for a �120m redevelopment of Scarborough's North Bay have gone on display. The plans include seafront apartments, a conference hotel, a leisure centre, shops, restaurants, bars and a casino. David Rhodes, a director of developers Benchmark Properties, said: "We are confidents that the scheme will play a key role in revitalising the area and provide a boost to the local economy. "We are excited to be playing our part in the future of Scarborough." Gordon Somerville, Scarborough Council's chief planning officer, said it was important for the public to give their comments on the scheme. He added: "The original proposals were changed significantly last year in response to people's views."
