Testing time for student

Mr Chapman will test 30 different varieties of condom
Tyneside student Dave Chapman has beaten 10,000 other hopefuls to get his dream job - testing condoms.

The 22-year-old Newcastle University law student will get 100 for each batch of contraceptives he and his girlfriend try out.

He says he is the envy of his friends after he was picked by a condom manufacturer.

The Newcastle University law student is to try out 30 varieties.

We targeted students because they generally need the cash

Condomi spokesman
Mr Chapman said: "As far as I can see it's a perfect win-win situation.

"I didn't tell my girlfriend I was applying, but nothing I do surprises her any more.

"They will send me their entire product range and I have to put them through their paces and evaluate them.

"They have all sorts of people doing it. I just applied for a laugh."

'Adventurous people'

Mr Chapman of Newcastle, is one of 10 testers employed by German firm Condomi.

A spokesman for the firm said: "We wanted people who would test them out properly, so we chose fairly adventurous-sounding people.

"We targeted students because they generally need the cash."
