Holiday maker contracts Legionnaires'
Legionnaires' disease graphic
The disease is spread through bacteria in water droplets
A holiday maker, who has just returned from Spain, is seriously ill in Worcestershire Royal Hospital after being diagnosed with Legionnaires' disease.

Medical authorities have confirmed the case and are monitoring the situation.

But they said it was still at the very early stages and would not be releasing any more details about the case.

The patient's condition has been described as critical, but slowly improving.

Legionnaires' disease is spread by bacteria in tiny water droplets often from air conditioning systems in buildings.

During the summer, four people died and 136 others were infected in outbreaks in Barrow-in-Furness and Sandwell, West Midlands.
