Residents' protest over windfarm
A windfarm
A consultation has been carried out on the plans
Residents in Burnley are protesting against plans to build a wind farm.

The dozen windmills would generate electricity for local homes and businesses.

The plans have been drawn up by United Utilities for an area around Clowbridge Reservoir on the moors between Burnley and Rawtenstall.

The company has carried out consultations and last month the public were given the chance to see the proposal.

But a group of residents opposed to the proposal intend to demonstrate at the reservoir over the weekend.

Burnley already has one 24-turbine wind farm at Cold Clough.

It began generating electricity ten years ago.
