Girl charged after burglary arrests

Police have arrested 25 in Operation Exasperate
A 14-year-old girl has been charged with burglary as part of a police operation in Berkshire.

Police say the girl from Caversham is accused of being part of a gang which stole a �25,000 Saab convertible.

She appeared at Reading Youth Court and is on conditional bail until Friday, accused of burglary and riding in a stolen car.

Police have charged five others with the burglary at Newport Road, Caversham on 22 August, including a 20-year-old Reading woman, a Caversham man in his twenties and a 44-year-old man from Whitley.

Ransacking houses

And a 17-year old girl has been charged with two burglaries after police raided a home in Carousel Court, Reading.

The teenager is accused of ransacking two houses in the town, in Baker Street on 23 April and Oxford Road on 15 May.

The arrests are part of a five-day police crackdown on burglary in Reading and Wokingham, codenamed Operation Exasperate.

Audi car

Thames Valley Police have arrested 25 people and recovered over �20,000 of stolen property in the operation.

An Audi TT worth �17,000, a �3,000 motorbike and various electrical items were discovered.

Others arrested in the operation have been bailed on suspicion of witness intimidation, drug possession, handling stolen goods, burglary and assault.
