Third police officer in drugs ring
David Redfern and Nicola Bladen
Redfern and his girlfriend pleaded guilty last week
A National Crime Squad officer is facing a jail term for snorting cocaine at a drug dealer's house as his children waited in a car outside.

Detective Sergeant Mark Jennison, 41, of Derbyshire police, is one of three officers who were caught on police surveillance equipment with the drug.

He was found guilty on Friday of possessing and supplying the drug by a jury at Leicester Crown Court.

The officer will be sentenced in January along with Detective Sergeant David Redfern, 42, and Detective Constable Heather Bossart, 40, who had earlier admitted separate drug charges.

Career 'finished'

Speaking outside the court after the verdict he said: "I am sorry for the embarrassment I have caused and very sad to be leaving the force.

"My career has come to an end."

The court had heard how Jennison and his two colleagues were captured by equipment hidden at the home of Nicola Bladen in Findern, Derbyshire.

He was found guilty of three offences of possessing cocaine and one offence of supplying the drug.

Last week Bladen admitted five charges of supplying cocaine, two of supplying cannabis and two of possessing cocaine.

At the same hearing Redfern admitted two charges of supplying cocaine, two of possessing cocaine and one of perverting the course of justice.

Bossart, a Nottinghamshire police officer, pleaded guilty to one offence of possessing cocaine.

Five other people - none of them police officers - also pleaded guilty to various drugs offences.

Jennison had denied the charges against him, claiming he had been working undercover in an attempt to bring Redfern to justice.
