Planned industrial action by ambulance crews in West Yorkshire was suspended again on Wednesday.

The ambulance unions want a 5% pay rise for all staff - which includes paramedics, patient transport staff and technicians.

They also want the working week reduced from 42 hours to 39, double time for Bank Holidays and enhanced overtime rates.

The action was suspended following talks that began on Tuesday afternoon.

Ballot result

The 24-hour overtime ban and indefinite work-to-rule had been due to start from midnight.

A ballot of union members will be held by the end of this week with the result expected in two weeks.

A final decision about the industrial action will then be made.
